home | meeting details | how to find our meetings | who runs the group? | policies | newsletters | resources and links | contact us welcome to the website of .... who are we? we are a support group for people (women and men) who have or have had breast cancer, at any stage of their breast cancer experience. everyone involved in the group has had a diagnosis of breast cancer. we are a real mixture. our ages range from mid-twenties to mid-seventies. some of us work, others are retired. some of us have young children, others grandchildren. most of us are women, but not all of us. some of us have only been recently diagnosed and are currently having treatment. others completed our treatment several years ago. some of us have experienced recurrences since our first diagnosis and some of us are living with secondary breast cancer. what do we do? our main aim is to support each other. we have learnt that just being in touch with each other is incredibly helpful. breast cancer can be isolating and scary, but meeting others and sharing information makes a real difference. we hold meetings twice a month to which anyone is welcome to "drop-in". some meetings have a serious, breast cancer-related topic with an external speaker. several local health care professionals have delivered really good talks at our meetings. other meetings have lighter "fun" topics. there is always plenty of time for coffee and tea and the occasional curry! our barry walks alternate between barry island and the knap and start at 10am or 10:30am depending on the time of year. please contact rosina on 01446 745269 or linda on 01446 710516/07967 806073 for more information. alternatively you can ring 0845 0771894. this is the phone number for breast cancer care cymru in cardiff. leave a message and one of our committee members will get back to you asap. our cardiff group now has weekly walks around roath park lake every tuesday. the group meets at 10:30am on the promenade by the lighthouse for a leisurely stroll around the lake that should take about 30 mins and then to the café for a coffee. no need to confirm, just turn up if you fancy it. if the weather's not looking good but you'd still like to walk then just get in touch with sue on 07773 500525 to check if the walk is going ahead. here registered charity number 1113068
